Sonnet 43 Brew House, in County Durham, is celebrating the news that its American Pale Ale & Bourbon Milk Stout beers were awarded 2 stars and 1 star respectively in the 2013 Great taste Awards.
American Pale Ale was commended by the judges for its hop flavour that ‘really delivers’ whilst the Bourbon Milk stout was highly praised for its ‘lovely nose’, comprising chocolate, oak & liquorice aromas.

Café du Monde was also been recognised for their Grand Cru.
Praised by the judges who said: “The acidity and sweetness in this blend worked well together and we liked the pleasant sourness it delivers. There is mild smokiness to this espresso and a very mild bitterness, though fruit characteristics do come through. A nicely crafted, well balanced espresso.”

Movenpick scooped nine stars and and will go on to be considered for this year’s Golden Fork Trophy winners and the 2013 Supreme Champion.
The Mövenpick Pear Sorbet – described as ‘lovely, fresh and clean’ gained three stars and a place in the Top 50 Foods.
Raspberry Sorbet picked up two stars for its ‘incredible colour’ and ‘intense, sharp flavour’ and ice cream flavours Vanilla Dream, Strawberry, Espresso Croquant and Macadamia Dulce de Leche all took one star each.
