Zing, a lightly sparkling soft drink has been confirmed as one of the exclusive partners for this Autumn’s release from Sony Pictures, Hotel Transylvania.

Zing 3D image of cans FINALmed.jpgThe movie, set for release in the UK on the 12 October welcomes you to Dracula’s lavish five-stake resort where monsters and their families can live it up, free to be the monsters they are without humans to bother them.

Limited edition character-themed cans have been designed that incorporate a creative twist on the original flavours; blood berry, tropical terror and aaaargh apple.

The cans also feature an exciting on-pack promotion which will launch in Zing-stocked schools in early September, with the grand prize being a once-in-a-lifetime trip to LA for a family of four to visit the Sony Pictures studios and meet the animators of the film.

Zing was launched by Aimia Foods in 2011 following product and packaging development with over 150 teens.

Perry Court Farm is a family owned farm in the North Downs of Kent.

Fruit and vegetable growing accounts for 300 acres of the farm but recently the team have developed this a step further by air-drying fruit for sale as a snack.

Aimed at children as a healthy school snack and adults as a work snack the fruit crisps come in a variety of flavours including Aid Dried Apple Crisps – Sweet, Air Dried Pear Crisps and later this Autumn and in 2013 respectively, Air Dried Cherries and Strawberries.

20110214-untitled-25.jpgThe products count as one of your five-a-day and are less than 70 calories per 20kg pack.

They are low in fat and high in goodness and are produced using traditional varieties such as Cox Orange Pippin and Laxstons Fortune.

Mychelle’s Baketique, an American couture cupcakery in
London, has launched their brand new collection of bite-sized mini cupcakes,
available online from www.baketique.com

Surely at only 50-90 calories each, despite being ‘loaded’ with oozing centres,
they are too good to resist?

peanutbutter.jpgFlavours include: Carrot Cake – topped off with cream cheese buttercream;
Raspberry Kiss – a sweet and tangy mini cupcake with a raspberry base and
Peanut Butter & Jelly (Jam) – a twist on the classic American sandwich.

Switzerland_Schmid_Mouldedpraline-3260.jpgCallebaut tells me these are the latest trends in chocolate (gathered from the World of Chocolate Masters).

  • Authenticity – shout about how it’s been made, and methods used.  What’s the recipe?  Think about flavours of yester-year.
  • Stay connected with your customers and the trends they want to see.  Just like Paul A. Young on Twitter.
  • Ensure an experience: Taste (of course) but also smell, feel, touch and sound (think about the packaging).
  • Make your
own – provide classes and inspiration.
  • Naturalness – promote where your chocolate comes from and be transparent.

GuancialeJuly12Pic1.JPG

The Italian style Guanciale developed by Hannan Meats has been listed as one of the Top 50 British Foods by the influential Guild of Fine Foods.

With a unique flavour, stronger than pancetta, this variety is unsmoked, a cheek that’s dry-cured with a blend of herbs, sugar, peppers, spices, garlic, and red wine that has been developed with molecular gastronomy.

The company has also recently installed Europe’s first Himalayan Wall of Salt for dry-aging beef, bacon and pork. The wall of salt helps to draw moisture from the meat and enhances the overall ageing process and flavour over a period of 28-45 days.

Their organic brie, organic brie with peppercorns, Holywell, the soon to be launched organic soft cheese made with milk from the Godminster farm and their handmade rosemary water biscuits.

Judges from Great Taste 2012 said: “Godminster’s new organic bries have a complexity of flavours that increase with time. They have a lovely creaminess with an earthy flavour and no aftertaste.”

This picture says it all.

How cool isJuiceDub.JPG this?

A converted Vdub camper van designed by Matt Thompson, creator and owner of Juice Dub.

Matt has spent the last 12 months planning, designing and creating what could quite possibly be the UK’s only mobile juice and smoothie bar making products freshly from raw ingredients all from within a converted classic VW Camper van.

A product designer by day Thompson has put all his knowledge into creating this very unique and functional vehicle – hoping to capture trade at weekend festivals and events and find a weekly prominent pitch.
