Lots of commentators this morning have suggested that The Queen’s New Year’s Honours list is simply stuffed with Mr Cameron’s “cronies”. Well, has there ever been a time when the Prime Minister of the day has not recommended some of his or her trusted friends for honours? Of course not.
Anyway, a man who could scarcely be more independent in his approach to life and business, Mr David Levin, owner of The Capital Hotel in London, has been awarded an MBE for services to hospitality and youth training. So well deserved, and one of the pleasures of being chief executive of Pride of Britain is the ability to claim Mr Levin’s acquaintance, indeed his friendship. I love eating and staying at The Capital because it is one of very few 5 star London hotels that are truly family owned and run (the others being The Goring and The Arch – also Pride of Britain members of course)
Congratulations to an inspirational and innovative hotelier.
