How can the humble servant of a marketing consortium find his way onto the illustrious HOSPA Leaders Panel? There’s only one way… as its facilitator.
For the second time I was invited to chair this session at the 2014 HOSPA (Hospitality Professionals Association) conference, known as HOSPACE, at the Sofitel Heathrow before an audience of IT, Finance and Revenue Management experts. The panel (see picture L-R) consisted of Heiko Figge of the Moorfield Group, Phil Le Brun of McDonald Restaurants, Steve Cassidy of Hilton and Simon Ewins of Whitbread/Premier Inn.
Each of them had their own take on the strength of our economic recovery but they were united in believing that we must all invest in new technology to stay ahead.
There were mixed views as to whether a hotel or restaurant needs to be part of a big brand to be successful. Needless to say, this gave me the opportunity to point out that you can have the best of both worlds (independence and the advantages of a brand) by joining a reputable organisation such as Pride of Britain!
Thanks to Carl Weldon and all at HOSPA for a truly informative day.
