Friends and former colleagues of talented young chef James Rehill, who died suddenly last year, are to celebrate his life with a memorial evening of cooking demonstrations.
Chef Brian McDermott will lead the memorial on 17 October at Redcastle Hotel, Inishowen, Co. Donegal, to remember the life and work of Rehill, whose career began in his charge.
After training at college in Killybegs Rehill moved to Scotland where he spent nearly five years working for Andrew Fairlie at Gleneagles in Auchterarder.
He was a sous chef at the five-star, 39-bedroom Cliff House in Ardmore, County Waterford, Ireland, when he passed away on 10 October 2012 from SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy).
Information on how to secure tickets for the memorial event can be found at the James Rehill Memorial Facebook page.
