Vintage Prints, the quintessentially British heritage collection by Churchill, has been updated with more prints including the iconic Blue Willow as part of Churchill’s latest new product launches.
The range update includes vintage style cups and saucers perfect for afternoon tea and rimmed bowls ideal for soups and salads. Designed to create an eclectic mix and match concept the range now has over 30 items including dinner plates, platters and bowls that are perfect for restaurants, cafes and gastro-pubs to work into an authentic concept.
Head of New Product Development, Vanessa Carter says of the launch:
‘It has been truly exciting to see how the Vintage Print designs have captured the imagination of so many establishments last year. Items were used in a mix and match style for afternoon tea, to add an authentic feel to traditional Great British dishes or as a flash of pattern for sharing platters.
This launch we have added teacups and saucers to add to afternoon tea and also rimmed bowls in popular designs due to demand. The new prints are Bramble, which also taps into the foraging trend and great British countryside, and Blue Willow which is the most iconic of traditional china designs.’
The Churchill Blue Willow pattern can be traced back to 1820 and has been enduringly popular across the world. The design tells the story of a rich Mandarin who on discovering his daughter prefers his poor servant to the suitor he has chosen for her, entraps her in a pagoda. From here his daughter, along with her young lover escape for eternity as a pair of turtle doves.
The items are all manufactured at Churchill’s Stoke on Trent factory and are made from Churchill’s Super Vitrified body – one of the strongest in the world. The full collection can be viewed online at www.churchill1795.com
