This
morning, the original BBC Good Food Show returned to Birmingham with a bang for
the 23rd year running. Brian Turner, Frances Quinn, James Martin,
Lisa Faulkner and Natalie Coleman opened the doors of the NEC to the nation’s
biggest food event of the year which runs until Sunday 1 December. With an
array of well-known brands, kitchen appliances
and gadgets
, a spread of the finest local
and regional produce to shop from,
and the best in live cooking, book
signings, and tastings all under one roof, visitors should expect a food
experience like no other. With the festive season in the air, this is the
perfect place to prepare for Christmas, featuring over 50 chefs and experts
from across the country on seven different stages.

The
Supertheatre, sponsored by Tesco finest*

Visitors can watch their favourite chefs and TV programmes come to life
including James Martin, The Hairy Bikers, Paul Hollywood & Mary Berry.
Tickets can be purchased on the door which include a standard seat in the
Supertheatre.

 

The
Great British Bake Off Village

An area
devoted to all things baking. See winners and contestants from the hit TV show
baking their favourite dishes. New for this year, visitors can also book in for
afternoon tea at The Great British Bake Off Tea Garden.

 

M&S Christmas Theatre

Playing host to a selection of the country’s best chefs, including Phil
Vickery, Michael Caines and James Nathan, cooking their own seasonal recipes
using M&S ingredients. Visitors can pick up top tips on how to make 2013
the most magical and delicious Christmas ever!

 

Producers’ Village – Bursary Awards Winners & Good
Food Champions

Six
producers who were rewarded as part of the Bursary Award Scheme are now
showcasing their products in front of tens of thousands of food fans. We are
delighted to welcome this year’s winners;
Ross and Ross Foods, Benjamin Chocolatier, Beach Food Co, Manfood, Edwards Cordial, and The Fruit Pig Company to the show. The Good Food Champions Pavilion has also
returned to the show this year, dedicated to the finest speciality, regional
and artisan food and drink.

 

MasterChef

The MasterChef MasterClass is the perfect opportunity to get up
close and personal to the BBC1 show. Be inspired by the favourite faces of
MasterChef as they demonstrate dishes that can be created at home. Alternatively, dine
in the MasterChef Restaurant sponsored by Hardys.

 

WineTubeMap Tasting Tours, sponsored by Convivium Wines

The
WineTubeMap will guide visitors around the different wine styles and flavours.
Boasting three different tours each offering an alternative spin on the map,
passengers can hop on and off allowing interaction and the opportunity to try
some of the taste tests and food matches. 

 

The Great British Beer Experience, sponsored by CAMRA

This beer experience like no other, will showcase a variety of beers
during a number of tutored beer tastings. Visitors will have the chance to
speak to head brewers, learn about the art of brewing and of course sample some
of Britain’s greatest real ales.

 

The World Cheese Awards

For the fourth year running we are hosting the prestigious World Cheese
Awards. Visitors can watch the judging take place today and will then be
able to view the cheeses, experience tasting and demonstrations on the tasting
theatre throughout the rest of the show.

 

The Magimix Theatre

Returning once
again with live demonstrations and the chance for visitors to put
their cookery skills to the test. Top celebrity chefs including Theo
Randall, Glynn Purnell, John Whaite and host Marcus Bean who
will showcase the Multifunction Magimix 5200XL Premium during a series of
mouth-watering live demonstrations to celebrate the iconic Magimix Food
